In Baytown, ExxonMobil runs a refinery that can process up to 584,000 barrels of crude oil per day, one of the largest in the United States, per ExxonMobil, on a complex that covers about 3,400 acres and has operated since 1919, per Wikipedia. In Pasadena, Chevron completed a 2024 upgrade of its Pasadena Refinery that lifted light crude capacity by nearly 15 percent to 125,000 barrels per day, per Chevron. In Deer Park, the Pemex refinery is rated at 340,000 barrels per day and sits 18 miles east of Houston on the channel, per Pemex.

The chemical side is just as dense.
